The discovery that the cervical spine is tilted to the right can be caused by several conditions: first, myotonic strabismus, which is a strabismus due to an imbalance, or spasm, in muscles such as the sternocleidomastoid muscle. If this is determined to be the case some are congenital and may require surgery for sternocleidomastoid muscle amputation to correct. Second, due to bony changes in the cervical spine, sometimes caused by cervical spondylosis, small joint disorders, this can be corrected by massage, traction, manipulation. Third, bony curvature of the cervical spine occurs and there has been fusion and ankylosis, at which time the joint space can be seen to disappear on X-ray. At this point it may be necessary to carry out surgical correction, need to have experienced doctors to check and take pictures to determine which is the case.
