Low milk supply one week after delivery may be related to improper breastfeeding, poor nutritional status, and milk stagnation. You can follow the doctor’s advice to relieve through general treatment, manipulation and other ways.
1. Improper breastfeeding: Less stimulation of the nipple will reduce the secretion of lactogen by the hormone of the posterior pituitary gland, thus reducing the secretion of milk by the mammary glands, which may lead to less milk one week after delivery. Early sucking and early contact can usually be taken to stimulate milk secretion frequently and effectively.
2. Poor nutritional status: Eating a vegetarian diet or overly oily food for 3 days after delivery may lead to low milk production one week after delivery. It is recommended that you can eat easy-to-digest, light food, as well as food rich in high quality protein, minerals, vitamins, moderate amount of water and fat.
3. Breast milk stagnation: The accumulation of breast milk in the breast due to poor discharge of milk from the glandular lobe may lead to low milk supply one week after delivery. You can follow the doctor to remove the milk stagnation and blockage of milk holes in time and promote the discharge of pus. Enhance local blood circulation, so as to reduce inflammation and relieve pain.
If you have little milk one week after giving birth, you need to go to the hospital for examination, identify the cause and treat the symptoms.
