Difference between mechanical ventilation and tracheal intubation

There are two types of mechanical ventilation in clinical practice, one is invasive mechanical ventilation, which requires the establishment of an artificial airway, and the other is noninvasive mechanical ventilation. The artificial airway is established, and its role may include the release of airway obstruction, timely clearance of secretions in the airway, prevention of aspiration, and the implementation of positive pressure ventilation therapy in severe hypoxemia and hypercapnia. Mechanical ventilation establishes a bridging relationship with the lungs so that gas from the machine can enter the lungs through the catheter and improve symptoms of respiratory failure, such as hypoxia and carbon dioxide retention.
