Itching of the clitoris is usually considered to have vulvovaginal inflammation, in which case an examination is performed. If only simple vulvodynia is considered, vulvar lotion and medication to relieve itching can be given for treatment. Itchy clitoris is also considered for the presence of lesions other than vulvar inflammation. There may be cysts in the vulvar area or vulvar tumors that may cause itching and discomfort in the clitoral area, and a pathological biopsy, which is in the tissue surrounding the clitoris, needs to be performed to clarify exactly which lesion is present. The most common clinical lesion is leukoplakia vulvae, in which itching of the clitoris is evident in the skin surrounding the clitoris. However, the treatment of leukoplakia vulvae is, at present, clinically tricky, and there are no too sensitive drugs. The main treatment modality is still symptomatic itching relief drugs. Because there are physiological and pathological causes of itching, if there is discomfort in the clitoris, you need to go to the hospital promptly to assess exactly which cause of clitoral itching is the problem.
