Do you know how to do breast self-examination?

Breast self-examination cannot actually improve the early detection rate of breast cancer and reduce the mortality rate, but it can raise women’s awareness of cancer prevention, so we still advocate monthly breast self-examination. The method of breast self-examination Visual examination: take off your shirt, under bright light, face the mirror and do bilateral breast visual examination, with arms down, observe whether the curved contour of both breasts has changed, whether they are at the same height, whether the skin of the breast, nipple and areola has peeling or erosion, and whether the nipple is raised or retracted. Then cross your arms and rotate your body from side to side to continue to observe the above changes. Palpation: Take a standing or supine position, place the left hand behind the head, and check the left breast with the right hand, with fingers together, left and right in the order of external upper, external lower, internal lower, internal upper, and axillary, and systematically check for lumps. Be careful not to miss any part of the body, and do not press or squeeze with your fingertips. After examining the breasts, gently squeeze the nipples with the index and middle fingers to observe whether there is any blood-tinged discharge. Breast partitioning: common misconceptions, four fingers straight and together, fingertips pressed against the skin of the breast for mobile touch.
