Idiopathic leukoplakia, also known as senile leukoplakia, is a senile degenerative phenomenon due to a decrease in the number of melanocytes. Its incidence increases with age and is most common in people over 45 years of age. The disease occurs mainly on the limbs and trunk, and does not occur on the face. The lesions appear as round white patches of about 2 to 5 millimeters, most of which have clear borders and are slightly depressed. At this stage, there is no effective treatment for idiopathic leukoplakia. If the disease does not affect the health of the individual, no special treatment can be done. If necessary, fractional laser treatment can be performed. If you have white spots with unknown causes, you should go to the hospital in time for examination and clear diagnosis, and don’t use medicine blindly in order to prevent adverse effects.
