The adverse reactions and contraindications of Xiang Fu are not clear; note that it should be taken with caution for those with Qi deficiency and no stagnation.

Adverse effects of epiphyllum are not clear, the product is pungent, hot and dry, pregnant women should be cautious, yin deficiency and hyperactivity should be avoided. Note that this product should not be used with Semen xia, Psidium guajava, Psidium guajava peel, Psidium guajava seed, smallpox pollen, Phellodendron chuan, Phellodendron zeylanicum, Phellodendron pinyin, Phellodendron erythrorhizumabrachii, Phellodendron huperocarpum, Ampelopsis japonica, Phellodendron bracteatum. If taken internally in excess, or improperly concocted or decocted, it can cause poisoning.
