How often should I have a review after radical prostate cancer surgery?

Follow-up after radical prostate cancer surgery is important.

Because a significant proportion of prostate cancer patients may still experience recurrence after undergoing surgery. If postoperative recurrence can be detected early and measures can be taken before the disease progresses further, long-term survival rates can be greatly improved.

So, it is generally recommended to review every month for 6 months after surgery; every 3 months for 2 years; every 6 months after 2 years; and every year after 5 years. You should work with your doctor to shorten the follow-up interval if necessary.
