The normal value of platelet pressure product varies according to gender, generally ranging from 0.108% to 0.272% in men and 0.114% to 0.282% in women.
Abnormalities may be caused by elevated or lowered MPV and PLT.
1. Elevated platelet pressure volume
(1) Elevated MPV: most common in pregnant women in late pregnancy, thrombosis, primary thrombocytopenic purpura, megaloblastic anemia. (2) Elevated PLT: mostly seen in chronic granulocytic leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, etc.
2. Decrease in platelet pressure volume
(1) Decreased MPV: mostly seen in aplastic anemia, acute leukemia during chemotherapy, etc.
(2) Reduced PLT: mostly seen in thrombocytopenic purpura, acute leukemia and so on.
The normal value of platelet pressure product is for reference only. Different hospital laboratories and testing instruments are different, and there may be some differences in the test results, please refer to the normal reference value in the test report. If the patient found abnormal platelet count in the examination, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time for further examination, to clarify the cause of the disease, and actively treat it under the guidance of the physician.
