Atractylodes macrocephala, Poria cocos and Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Soup consists of Atractylodes macrocephala, Poria cocos and Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, and its effects are determined by the effects of the three themselves, which are generally effective in promoting qi and drying dampness, invigorating the spleen, benefiting the qi, and stopping diarrhea, and it is suitable for patients suffering from deficiency of the spleen with dampness and stagnation of diarrhea, accompanied by Qi dysfunction.
1. Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae: Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae has the efficacy of tonifying Qi and strengthening the spleen, drying dampness and inducing diuresis (drying dampness and reducing water-dampness in the body), and stopping sweating, and is suitable for patients with deficiency of the spleen and dampness and diarrhea, however, because of its warm nature, patients with deficiency and solid fire may suffer from vomiting of blood, epistaxis (nosebleed), blood in stools, etc, and it should be taken with caution.
2. Poria: Poria can strengthen the spleen and tranquilize the heart, exuding dampness and inducing diuresis, which is suitable for the symptoms of spleen deficiency and dampness stagnation, abdominal distension and edema. However, it should be taken with caution for those who have a general deficiency of yin without dampness and heat, deficiency of cold and slippery essence, and deficiency of qi and subsidence.
3. Pericarpium Citriodora: Pericarpium Citriodora is pungent and warm, it can dry dampness, strengthen the spleen and move qi, suitable for spleen and stomach dampness stagnation and stagnation of qi abdominal distension and pain in the patients obviously. But qi and yin deficiency, dry cough or vomiting blood and tongue red and less fluid should not be taken.
