The blood routine report card of liver cancer can see whether there is anemia, infection, thrombocytopenia and so on.
1. Whether there is anemia or not: liver cancer patients, in middle and late stages, usually have pernicious anemia, chronic anemia, hemoglobin can be reduced to below 90g/L or even lower, and the total number of red blood cells, average volume of red blood cells, average hemoglobin content and so on may also decrease.
2. Infection: resistance and immunity of cancer patients are lower than that of normal adults, so they are prone to respiratory and digestive tract infections, and the percentage of neutrophils and the total number of leukocytes are likely to rise during the infections.
3. Thrombocytopenia: Liver cancer patients with enlarged spleen are prone to splenic stasis, hypersplenism and thrombocytopenia, etc. Platelet transfusion is needed to prevent fatal bleeding when the platelet is less than 20*10^9/L.
Liver cancer patients who are treated with radiotherapy should also know whether they have bone marrow suppression or not, and analyze the blood routine results comprehensively according to the patient’s condition.
