Talking about hair loss

Get rid of poverty and hardship is called get out of trouble, but now, “get out” of trouble has a new interpretation – hair loss of the trouble! Nowadays, most people in the city have gotten rid of poverty and hardship, but more and more people are trapped by hair loss, and only those who have suffered from hair loss really know it. Many of the patients I have seen have suffered deeply from hair loss, and one even suffered from a lifelong problem. This patient was 29 years old when he came to the clinic, and according to his self-report, he started to experience hair loss 2 years ago, and he thought it was due to frequent overtime work, staying up late and irregular life, and his hair had become significantly less in the past year. But his mother thought that “a boy with less hair is smart, it’s not relevant”, and she was worried about the side effects of medication. So what made him determined to seek medical treatment? The patient had a girlfriend when he first graduated from college, at that time because the economic strength is not enough, can not afford to buy a house was opposed by the woman’s parents and broke up; now after several years of hard work, finally career success, have a house and a car, and the current girlfriend good feelings, began to consider getting married, but who knows the first time to meet the parents because “too little hair, look too old” The future mother-in-law gave the red light, and the marriage was put on hold. He tried all kinds of so-called “anti-hair loss” and “hair growth” shampoos and prescriptions, but after using them, his hair loss failed to improve, and the few remaining hairs became yellow and lusterless. The mother saw that hair loss was affecting her son’s life, so she rushed to accompany him to the hospital. The patient was found to have less hair on both sides of the forehead and on the top of the head, with a receding hairline and an M-shaped hairline, and the hair that had not fallen out had become thin, soft and yellow, and the scalp was visible. There were no trauma scars or inflammatory manifestations on the scalp. According to the patient’s clinical performance, she was diagnosed as male pattern baldness, grade III, which is moderate hair loss, and if she does not undergo systematic and standardized treatment, her hair loss will become more and more serious, or even irreversible. She is 29 years old, which is a high incidence of male pattern baldness. Male pattern hair loss (MPHL), also known as androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and seborrheic alopecia, is characterized by progressive hair thinning and progressive atrophy of hair follicles. Male pattern baldness is the more common type of hair loss in clinical practice, and most of them have a family history of genetic predisposition. It is a very common disease among men, with an incidence of up to 20%, which means that 1 in 5 people suffer from male pattern baldness. According to the patient’s condition, he was treated with oral medication of finasteride 1 mg once daily and topical tincture of minoxidil twice daily for a total of 18 months. The patient’s hair loss was significantly reduced after 3 months, new hair growth was seen after 6 months, the hair became darker and thicker, and the hair became significantly thicker after 12 months. The patient felt satisfied with the results, and his family and colleagues also felt that he had become younger and more confident; less than a year after the treatment, he brought us happy candy, and he and his girlfriend happily entered the marriage hall, and his mother-in-law looked more and more pleased with him as a son-in-law. A comparison of before and after treatment can be seen in the chart below. The patient cooperated rationally and positively throughout the treatment process, and never found any uncomfortable reaction during the year and a half-long treatment. The patient also seemed very confident in the treatment, and was very satisfied with the effect and safety. Recently, I have been asked by many patients if there is anything that needs to be taken care of in terms of diet in addition to the regular treatment. In fact, there are no special requirements for diet during treatment. Many patients are seeking what kind of diet is good for their hair, in fact, it is not a single diet that is good for hair, it means that we need to eat healthy and have balanced nutrition in order to have a healthy body and healthy hair. Hair loss is a complex long-term progressive disease, so once hair loss occurs, please be sure to go to a regular hospital to seek treatment from a regular hair specialist doctor, do not rush to the doctor and miss the best time for treatment, early treatment will be able to get better results in a shorter period of time. And in the treatment process is very critical to adhere to, the patient treatment period, the mother has insisted on supervising her son on time medication and follow-up, should also be said to be a credit.
