Fibro-nodular foci refers to pulmonary fibro-nodular foci, which are benign foci, mostly a remnant of a previous lung disease.
Fibrotic nodular foci are a form of lung disease manifestation. Most fibrotic nodular foci are fibrotic-like changes left behind by incomplete resorption after an infection, especially a viral or bacterial infection. Pulmonary fibrotic nodular foci may also be secondary to autoimmune disease, where autoimmunity repeatedly leads to self-injury and repair, which also manifests as fibrotic foci in the lungs.
Patients with pulmonary fibro-nodular foci do not require special treatment if there are no changes or clinical conditions after monitoring and close observation. If the pulmonary fibrous nodules to the point of affecting the ventilation and air exchange function of the patient’s lungs, they can be treated by dexamethasone, prednisone, cyclophosphamide, etc., as prescribed by the doctor, and surgical treatment if necessary.
