Azithromycin dosage

Azithromycin is divided into oral dosage form and injectable dosage form, the specific dosage should be used under doctor’s guidance, not generalized. 1. Azithromycin oral drug: including tablets, capsules and dry suspension three, the use of all for 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after meals orally, adults and children’s dosage is different: (1) Adults: for the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae, a single oral dose of 1.0 g. Treatment of pediatric pharyngitis, tonsillitis: 12mg/kg of body weight on the first day, for 5 days, the maximum amount of a day does not exceed 0.5g. 2. Azithromycin for injection: (1) Usage: It needs to be fully dissolved with appropriate amount of water for injection, and then added to sodium chloride injection or 5% dextrose injection to be prepared into 1.0~2.2mg/ml, and then administered intravenously, meanwhile, the doctor decides when to switch to azithromycin oral preparation according to the response of clinical treatment. (2) Dosage: Azithromycin for Injection can be used to treat diseases such as community-acquired pneumonia and pelvic inflammatory disease: the recommended dosage is 500mg once a day, administered intravenously. Patients should use the medicine correctly under the guidance of professional doctors, and should not use the medicine at will on their own to avoid adverse consequences.
