How many days can a small wound be exposed to water?

There is no definite date when a small wound can be exposed to water, it depends on the healing of the wound. Normal healing occurs when there is no exposure of any localized tissue that can provide better protection. Suture wound healing time is also known as suture removal time. Usually wounds on the head, face and neck heal in 5 days, lower abdomen, perineum in 7 days, chest, upper abdomen, back, buttocks in 7-9 days, upper and lower extremities in 10-12 days, and joints of the lower extremities take 14 days to heal. The wounds should not be touched with water until they are completely healed. If there is unhealed soft tissue touching water, it is easy to get infected, and need to clean and disinfect the wound, anti-infection treatment.
