Wrist fracture can usually be recovered after standardized treatment, but if the fracture is serious or improperly treated, it can lead to deformity of wrist healing. If the wrist fracture is a closed fracture with no obvious displacement of the fracture end, it can be restored to normal after 3~6 months through manipulation, plaster fixation and functional exercise according to the doctor’s instruction. If the displacement of the fracture end is obvious, surgical treatment can be carried out, and the function of the wrist can be restored to normal after 3~6 months. If the fracture is not properly treated, such as poor repositioning, poor fixation, uneven weight-bearing on the wrist, etc., it may cause malunion of the wrist, which may prevent the wrist from regaining the normal shape or function of the wrist. Fractures with severe soft tissue damage can also cause deformity and affect the normal function of the wrist. If the wrist is fractured, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for standardized treatment.
