How long does it take to recover from prostate enlargement surgery

The recovery time after prostate enlargement surgery is related to the patient’s physical quality, the size of the trauma and whether there is an infection, which cannot be generalized. The current clinical choice of prostate enlargement surgery is mostly minimally invasive surgery, which is less invasive, less bleeding and faster recovery after surgery. Usually, most patients can remove the catheter and get out of bed on their own 2-3 days after surgery. The wound recovery time varies. If the patient has no other complications and is in good health, most patients can fully recover within 1 month after surgery and can walk, carry things and go about their daily lives normally. If the patient is infected and has severe symptoms and is older, the post-operative wound recovery is relatively slow and can only be fully restored to normal 2 months after surgery. After prostate enlargement surgery, patients may have a short period of hematuria and painful urination, which is normal and can gradually return to normal with the recovery of the disease.
