New understanding of “health” Focus on subhealth

“In 1948, the World Health Organization (WHO) proposed that “health is not only the absence of disease or infirmity, but also a state of physical, mental and social well-being. In 1948, the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that “health is not only the absence of disease or infirmity, but also a state of physical, mental and social well-being. The relationship between health and disease As a biological phenomenon, health or disease is a relative concept and a continuous dynamic development process; as a socio-cultural phenomenon, it is a judgment and definition made by people according to their life experience, cultural education and social background, and is a social concept that develops continuously with the development of social culture. With the development of economy and the improvement of people’s material and cultural life, health has become an increasingly important issue, and WHO believes that only 5% of the world’s population is truly healthy, 20% of the world’s population is suffering from diseases, and 75% of the world’s population is in a state of sub-health. The term “sub-health” was first proposed by Berkman in the former Soviet Union, and in the mid-1990s, scholars in China proposed the term “sub-healthy state”. What is a sub-healthy state? Subhealth state is similar to gray state, subclinical state and sub disease state, which refers to the functional changes in the body without organic pathology, resulting in a low quality state between health and disease in body, mind and emotion and its experience. Subhealth state is both a dynamic process and an independent stage, and it is an uninterrupted continuous process with health and disease state. The main causes of sub-healthy state are: (1) Accelerated pace of life and work, excessive stress and pressure leading to brain and physical overdraft. (2) Poor lifestyle: such as high salt, high fat and high calorie diet, heavy smoking and alcohol consumption and sedentary without exercise, etc.; lack of sleep. (3) The adverse effects of environmental pollution: such as water and air pollution, noise, microwave, electromagnetic waves, pesticides and other physical and chemical pollution. (4) Adverse mental and psychological stimulation. (5) Natural aging of the human body. Three types of people are the main force of the “subhealth army”: (1) People who face fierce competition and have a large psychological burden, such as operators, leaders and private owners of enterprises and institutions; (2) Brain workers with busy and fast-paced work, such as employees of foreign companies, researchers, educators, journalists, government officials, etc, (3) Physical workers who are overloaded and under stress for a long time, such as workers in labor-intensive enterprises, cab drivers, etc. Common symptoms of subhealth (1) physical: fatigue, headache, dizziness, headache, dry eyes, neck and waist pain; panic attacks, shortness of breath, easy sweating or irregular heartbeat during activities; neurodermatitis, dry skin, mouth sores, bad breath, irregular bowel movements (constipation or nervous diarrhea, etc.); sexual dysfunction, women often have various menstrual symptoms, etc. Other pathogenic factors such as excessive socializing, smoking, overweight, fatty liver, dyslipidemia, high blood glucose and blood pressure, and other abnormal pathological states may also be present at the same time. (2) Psychological aspects: manifesting as forgetfulness, mental inactivity, depression, unresponsiveness, insomnia and dreaminess, daytime sleepiness, inattention, irritability, anxiety, irritability, etc. (3) Social interaction: Generally, you can work and study normally, but with reduced efficiency; in severe cases, you cannot “meet people” and are out of touch with society. How to intervene in sub-health? Intervention in sub-health has two meanings, namely from health to sub-health and from sub-health to disease prevention. The prevention and intervention of sub-health should start from recognizing that “the best doctor is yourself”, starting from life, targeting the causes of lifestyle, paying attention to treating stress well, balanced nutrition, ensuring sleep, cultivating interests, etc. We should achieve scientific fitness and cultivation, and create a good living environment and interpersonal relationships. In addition to this, subhealth states can also be alleviated through reasonable medical treatment. As early as in the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine, there is a saying that “The sage does not treat the sick to cure the sick, and does not treat the chaos to cure the chaos. If the disease has become and then medicine, chaos has become and then cure, like thirst and wear well, bucket and cast cone, is not also late? In addition, traditional medicine (including Chinese medicine, acupuncture, acupressure, acupressure, herbal food therapy, etc.) is an advantageous choice to reverse subhealth.
