Chronic diseases, a generic term for chronic non-communicable diseases, are characterized by complex or even incompletely identified causes, long duration and persistent disease, and 63% of all deaths worldwide are caused by non-communicable diseases, mainly cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease and diabetes, according to the WHO report. If the major risks of NCDs were eliminated, about 3/4 of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes and 40% of cancer would be preventable. The Plan for the Prevention and Control of Chronic Diseases in China (2012-2015) mentions that the common chronic diseases affecting the health of our people are mainly cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, malignant tumors, and chronic respiratory diseases. The number of chronic diseases in China is rising rapidly, with 260 million patients diagnosed, and deaths caused by chronic diseases have accounted for 85% of the total deaths in China, resulting in a disease burden that has accounted for 70% of the total disease burden, which is a major public health problem. The high prevalence of chronic diseases in China is precisely the clinical common diseases of internal injuries in Chinese medicine, internal injuries have a long course of disease, in the process of the struggle between good and evil organs weakness, deficiency of qi and blood, easy to form qi stagnation, blood stasis, phlegm and other pathological products, this pathological products as a new cause of disease will further depletion of qi and blood, then the deficient physique will be further deficient, and the physique with vegetative evil such as phlegm and dampness or stasis of blood, phlegm and dampness or stasis of blood will further aggravate the situation In addition, the disease may be intertwined with each other, resulting in prolonged and eventually incurable disease. The high prevalence of common chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, malignant tumors, and chronic respiratory diseases is closely related to factors such as diet structure, lifestyle, and environment, which are the main influencing factors in the formation and change of body constitution in Chinese medicine. Therefore, many scholars have conducted studies on the onset of chronic diseases, the correlation between chronic diseases and TCM constitution types, etc. around common clinical chronic diseases in recent years. The results of the study found that biased constitution is relatively more prone to chronic diseases, and the occurrence of common chronic diseases such as hypertension, stroke, tumor, diabetes and other chronic diseases are closely related to the type of constitution, such as phlegm-damp constitution has a higher chance of coronary heart disease, hypertension, stroke and diabetes than other constitution types. Some scholars have analyzed that the most risky constitution for hypertension is phlegm-damp, the most risky constitution for coronary heart disease is blood-stasis, and the most risky constitution for stroke is yin-deficiency, but all of them are related to phlegm-damp. These research results not only assist in clinical treatment, but also have a more important significance in achieving personalized health management, controlling the risk factors of chronic diseases and early diagnosis and treatment through physical identification and conditioning, which is the most realistic and valuable meaning of Chinese medicine in treating the untreated diseases.
