Dampness is caused by the human body feeling external dampness, or spleen deficiency leading to internal dampness, blocking the qi and qing yang, which is mainly manifested as greasy tongue coating on the tongue, and other symptoms vary depending on the location.
1. Heavy dampness in the middle Jiao: mainly heavy dampness in the spleen and stomach, mainly manifested as chest tightness and epigastric plumpness, dullness (lack of appetite, reduced food intake), nausea and vomiting, and sticky and unpleasant symptoms in the mouth.
2. Dampness in the lower Jiao is heavy: it mainly manifests as turbid urine, thin stools, and a large amount of women’s diarrhea.
3. Dampness in the head and face: mainly manifested as drowsy head, drowsiness and other symptoms.
4. Heavy dampness in the limbs: mainly manifested as joint pain, heaviness and swelling of the limbs.
5. Dampness in the skin: mainly manifested as eczema, itching, and so on.
6. Tongue and pulse: the main manifestation is greasy tongue coating, pulse moistening or fine.
