The 3rd International Thyroid Awareness Week (May 23-27, 2011) – Xinhua Hospital Thyroid Volunteer Consultation was successfully held in the lobby on the first floor of the Outpatient Building. After the second International Thyroid Awareness Week, the International Thyroid Federation International, an organization of thyroid disease patients, solemnly advocated the launch of the third International Thyroid Awareness Week in 2011. The theme of the week was “For the IQ of the next generation, pay attention to thyroid health”. The general surgery department organized thyroid specialists, including Director Zhang Shenglai, Deputy Director Zhu Jian, Deputy Director Chu Bingfeng, Dr. Yang Yipeng, Nurse Xue Feng, Nurses Cai Dan, Gu Jianni and Gong Yurong, to actively promote and consult with patients, and received a lot of support from patients. More than a hundred thyroid patients’ consultations were answered free of charge on site, and some of them were admitted to the hospital through on-site medical checkups and received timely medical treatment.
