How long does it take to have a reaction to a medication abortion

There are two types of medications required for a medication abortion, one is Mifepristone, which needs to be taken for 2 days. There is usually less abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding while taking Mifepristone, and Misoprostol on the 3rd day. Usually women will have a reaction about 3 hours after taking Misoprostol. The main purpose of a medication abortion is to inhibit the growth of the embryo and stimulate the uterus to contract to expel the pregnancy sac from the body. The abdominal pain will occur around 3 hours after taking the drug due to accelerated contractions of the uterus, and the pregnancy sac will be expelled around 6 hours with a small amount of vaginal bleeding, which usually lasts for about 14 days. Patients may also experience dizziness, nausea, vomiting and weakness after the abortion. If the gestational sac is incomplete or if there is a lot of vaginal bleeding, scraping may be required depending on the size of the embryo left in the uterus. Women should pay attention to rest, strengthen diet and nutrition, pay attention to keeping warm, exercise properly, enhance resistance and check their body recovery regularly. If there is severe pain or heavy bleeding after taking the medicine, they need to go to the gynecological department of the hospital in time.
