What Causes Chest Nodules

Chest nodules are usually caused by inflammation, hyperplasia or tumor in chest organs and tissues, which can be roughly divided into chest wall nodules, pleural cavity nodules, lung nodules and mediastinal nodules. 1. Chest wall nodules: most of them are located in the subcutaneous surface of the body, and the size of the nodules is less than 1cm. If the texture is soft and movable, they are often benign lesions such as subcutaneous lipoma, fibroma, dermatoid cyst, breast hyperplasia, and inflammatory enlarged lymph nodes, etc; if the texture is hard and fixed, they are likely to be bone tumors, breast cancers, and metastatic lymph nodes. 2. Pleural nodes: most of them are pleural metastases or pleural mesothelioma of malignant tumors such as lung cancer and breast cancer. 3. Lung nodules: most of them are inflammation, edema or fibrous scar foci caused by lung infection or tuberculosis; a small number of lung nodules may be lung cancer, and it is not uncommon to find lung malignant tumors, tuberculosis ball, inflammatory granuloma, pulmonary nodular disease, and so on. 4. Mediastinal nodules: mediastinal lymph node enlargement and mediastinal nodal disease are common. Chest nodules, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for further diagnosis and treatment.
