Cryptorchidism in newborns is caused by congenital incomplete descent of the testicles, among other things. It is possible for the undescended testicles to descend on their own until six months of age. If after six months, the testicles still have not descended, the possibility of further descent is already relatively small, and treatment is needed at this time. It is recommended that chorionic gonadotropin be injected to promote testicular descent. If the testicles do not descend into the scrotum even after one year of age through hormone treatment, surgery can be chosen in time. The more common surgical procedure is testicular descent fixation, in which the testicles are loosely descended into the scrotum and fixed so that the development of the testicles is not affected as much as possible.
