What is a tuberculosis lesion

Tuberculosis lesions are manifestations of lesions that damage the lungs after Mycobacterium tuberculosis has invaded the body. In the case of X-ray imaging, it may appear as patches, nodules, cords, or as tuberculomas or isolated cavities in mild cases, while in severe cases it may appear as lobar infiltrates, dry complex pneumonia, multiple cavity formation, and bronchial dissemination. After imaging findings of lesions, sputum examination should be performed, and if sputum culture appears positive for Mycobacterium tuberculosis, or if sputum smear is positive for antinuclear or antacid bacilli, one should receive standardized anti-tuberculosis treatment for at least 6-9 months, with early, regular, combined, and full medication.
