Thyroid TgAb is thyroglobulin antibody, which is an autoimmune antibody. Only high TgAb and normal thyroid function can be followed up regularly, but if accompanied by hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, medication and surgical treatment will be needed. 1. High TgAb with hypothyroidism may be due to Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, which is a chronic autoimmune disease with thyroid tissue as the antigen, and when hypothyroidism occurs, thyroid hormone replacement therapy is needed. 2. High TgAb with hyperthyroidism may be Graves’ disease. Graves’ disease is also known as toxic diffuse goiter, and common treatments include antithyroid medications (methimazole, propylthiouracil, etc.), radioactive iodine therapy, and surgery. Thyroglobulin antibodies are elevated, and patients are advised to seek treatment under medical supervision.
