Patients with fever, as long as there is no cold limbs or the fever temperature is not too high, you can use local cool towel cold compresses to reduce fever. Generally, the cool towel needs to be changed once every 5-10 minutes. Cold compresses can be applied to the forehead, palms of the hands, feet, legs and elbows, which are rich in blood flow and can help lower the body temperature. However, if the temperature of the fever is relatively high, local cold compresses should not be used, and warm water or diluted alcohol or white wine bath must be used. Warm water can be used to wipe the patient’s skin all over the body, especially in the armpits, groin, neck, palms of the hands and feet where blood flow is abundant. The patient’s temperature should also be monitored and should not be allowed to exceed 38.5 degrees.
