Is obesity prone to cancer?

We often see patients with advanced cancer who are extremely thin, so people tend to think that thin people are more likely to have cancer. However, research shows that this is not the case. Patients with advanced cancer are mainly the result of long-term consumption of cancer cells after cancer. According to epidemiological surveys, obese women are more likely to have ovarian, endometrial, bladder and postmenopausal breast cancers. Men are more likely to suffer from prostate cancer. Both men and women are more likely to suffer from colon cancer. The main reason for this is that obese patients with cancer often have diabetes and high blood cholesterol, making their immune system weak. In general, when the body has a small cancer, there is a substance called tumor surface antigen on the surface of the cancer cells. This allows the immune system to detect cancer cells and destroy them quickly. However, obese people with diabetes and hyperlipidemia have a weak immune system. Cancer cells are not easily recognized. Although it cannot be completely said that obesity causes cancer, but obesity induces other conditions that tend to lower one’s resistance, which leads to cancer susceptibility. It is recommended that obese patients control calorie intake while ensuring balanced nutrition and slowly increase exercise.
