1, trauma: trauma is the most common factor of lumbar disc herniation, mostly seen in young people. Because the degree of lumbar disc degeneration in young people is not heavy, if a young person has a lumbar disc herniation, then there is a high probability that he will have a history of trauma to the lumbar spine. The trauma mentioned here does not only refer to the violent trauma, but also the slow progression of injury from long term sedentary and incorrect posture is also considered as trauma. In addition, the most common situation that triggers back pain is moving things – moving things in an incorrect posture, which is the most common type of injury that triggers back pain in young people. 2, occupation: there are many occupations that require long-term sedentary or weight-bearing, long-term incorrect posture of sedentary or weight-bearing can produce a lot of pressure on the lumbar discs, thus triggering lumbar disc herniation. Common occupations are drivers, office workers, IT workers, heavy laborers, such as coal miners, construction workers, weight lifters, etc. 3, pregnancy: pregnancy is also a very important factor in triggering lumbar disc herniation, the reason is more, I analyze the following 3 points: (1) October pregnancy, every day with a big belly, the waist under greater pressure, resulting in lumbosacral muscles continue to tension, will produce lumbar muscle strain, which we can all think! (2) In addition, during pregnancy, the level of estrogen and progesterone in the body of pregnant women will change, and their changes will cause the ligaments of the whole body to be in a relaxed state, especially the pelvic ligaments, which is conducive to childbirth. But they also cause the lumbar ligaments (especially the posterior longitudinal ligaments that prevent lumbar disc protrusion) to relax, making the lumbar discs easy to protrude, which leads to postpartum back pain. (3) After the birth of a child, incorrect breastfeeding posture and repeated bending of the mother holding the child can also lead to increased lumbago. So how to solve the postpartum low back pain? Patients can properly exercise their low back muscles after giving birth and keep the correct breastfeeding posture (please refer to my article: Neck and low back muscles exercise Xiaoyanfei and five-point support). If the pain is still not relieved and there is no breastfeeding, you can consider taking some anti-inflammatory painkillers. If you are still breastfeeding, try not to take any medicine, and you can go to a regular Chinese medicine and massage department, rehabilitation physiotherapy department to do some physical therapy, etc. 4, genetic factors: lumbar disc herniation is a genetic factor. 32% of patients with lumbar disc herniation younger than 20 years old have a family history of the disease. So if your father and mother have a history of lumbar disc herniation, then you should be more careful to take care of your waist, because the probability of you having a lumbar disc herniation is greater than others. Also people of color have a lower incidence rate, such as Indians and Eskimos, who have a lower incidence rate than yellow and white people. 5, lumbar spine structure congenital abnormalities: normal people have 5 lumbar vertebrae, lumbar sacral and sacral lumbar patients have 4 and 6 lumbar vertebrae respectively, the number of lumbar vertebrae is not normal will make the pressure on the lumbar intervertebral discs normal people to be greater, so that they have a greater probability of lumbar disc herniation than normal people. In addition, the asymmetrical structure of the lumbar bottom will also make the pressure on the lumbar intervertebral discs greater than normal, and also prone to lumbar disc herniation. If you want to know if your lumbar spine structure is normal, it is simple to go to the hospital and take a front and side x-ray of the lumbar spine.
