Among the common diseases of the respiratory system, the most common coughs with wheezing are bronchitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, and asthma. The first three are infectious diseases, named according to the anatomical site of infection; asthma is an allergic disease. Both have similar clinical manifestations, with symptoms such as coughing and wheezing appearing. Many pathologists and doctors regard these two diseases as the same disease. In my personal opinion, the former can be diagnosed by blood picture, X-ray, etc., while the latter is often misdiagnosed as the former without careful understanding of the medical history and onset of the disease, resulting in a prolonged course of the disease. Therefore, the judgment of asthma is important. 1.Long-term cough (more than 1 month) or recurrent cough with wheezing (more than 3 times), or recurrent bronchitis that is difficult to cure. 2.Personal specific medical history: such as eczema, atopic dermatitis, ichthyosis, psoriasis, or frequent sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose (allergic rhinitis), frequent eye rubbing, watery eyes, (allergic conjunctivitis), or allergy to eggs, seafood, peanuts, mangoes, etc., allergy to cyanogen; 3.Family history: history of asthma, allergic rhinitis, urticaria; 4.Pulmonary signs: croup; 5.Symptomatic treatment Response: ineffective to long-term anti-infective drugs, effective against allergic drugs; 6. Functional tests: abnormal pulmonary function tests, increased peripheral blood eosinophils. If the above conditions occur and the age is under 3 years old, do not easily define asthma, it can be considered as wheezing bronchitis, and with treatment, some children can be cured. If the child is over 3 years old and still has recurrent attacks, asthma should be considered. Again, the disease can only be cured fundamentally through a combination of Western and Chinese medicine. In acute attacks, Western medicine is good at controlling the persistent state of asthma, but Chinese medicine plays an important role in adjusting the body and reducing and controlling asthma attacks, so the radical cure of asthma by Chinese medicine should not be underestimated.
