Rectal Cancer Typically Dies in a Few Years

The 5-year survival rate of stage I rectal cancer can basically reach 93% with surgical treatment. With active treatment, the five-year survival rate of stage II rectal cancer can reach 80%. Stages III to IV of rectal cancer will be life-threatening, and the five-year survival rate is about 8-10%. Clinically, the survival period of rectal cancer is closely related to the stage of rectal cancer. Generally speaking, rectal cancer can be divided into four stages according to TNM staging, mainly stage I, II, III and IV. For stage I rectal cancer, the effect of active treatment is especially ideal, because the 5-year survival rate of stage I rectal cancer patients can basically reach 93% after active treatment. Of course, patients with stage Ⅲ or Ⅳ rectal cancer have already metastasized, i.e. middle to late stage, and the treatment effect is not particularly ideal. For example, for patients with stage IV rectal cancer, the 5-year survival rate after active treatment is basically 8%. The specific time of several years’ death of rectal cancer in general also needs to be decided according to the severity of the disease, and the survival time cannot be evaluated as everyone’s physique is different. It is recommended to go to regular hospitals and ask professional doctors to diagnose the cause of the disease before further treatment.
