What’s wrong with a high level of aspartate transferase?

High aspartate aminotransferase, i.e., elevated aspartate aminotransferase, is related to physiological reasons such as staying up all night and exertion, as well as pathological reasons such as hepatitis, biliary tract obstruction and myocardial infarction. 1. Physiological reasons: if there is a long-term late night, exertion, etc., due to liver damage, which will appear aspartate aminotransferase elevation. 2. Pathologic causes. (1) Hepatitis: including alcoholic hepatitis, drug-induced hepatitis and other non-viral hepatitis and viral hepatitis, patients can appear aspartate aminotransferase elevation, especially acute viral hepatitis, aspartate aminotransferase significantly increased, even up to 100 times the upper limit of normal value. (2) Biliary obstruction: such as cholecystitis, intrahepatic bile duct stones, etc., due to biliary stasis, patients may have mild elevation of aspartate aminotransferase. (3) Acute myocardial infarction: aspartate aminotransferase is elevated 6 to 8 hours after acute myocardial infarction, with peak values at 18 to 24 hours. The elevated values are related to the extent and degree of myocardial necrosis. There are many other causes of aspartate aminotransferase elevation, and it is recommended that the cause of the disease be clarified after consultation and treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
