Most cervical spondylosis does not cause low back pain, and special conditions such as cervical lumbar syndrome can cause low back pain. Nerves emanating from the cervical spine innervate the neck, shoulders, and both upper limbs, and no nerves innervate the lower back, so cervical spondylosis does not cause low back pain. The nerves emanating from the neck are mainly brachial plexus nerves and some cutaneous nerves, which have a smaller innervation range and do not go beyond the thoracic back, so they do not cause low back pain. If cervical spondylosis presents with low back pain, the possibility of cervical-lumbar syndrome needs to be considered. This is due to the simultaneous occurrence of spinal stenosis in the cervical spine and lumbar spine, thus compressing the spinal cord and nerves to appear the symptoms of cervical spondylosis combined with low back pain. If there are symptoms of cervical spondylosis combined with low back pain, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, through CT, MRI and other examinations, to find the cause of the disease and then comply with the doctor’s instructions for targeted treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
