Belintuzumab is not a complete cure for leukemia. Belintuzumab is an antibody that targets the CD19 molecule as well as the CD3 molecule. It is mainly used for the treatment of relapsed or refractory precursor B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in adults. The drug is clinically effective, however, it does not provide a complete cure for leukemia. In patients with unsatisfactory clinical results and relapses, the drug can be used to re-induce the disease to a state of remission, buying time for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. If the patient is unable to undergo allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, even if the disease goes into remission with the use of this drug, the patient may still relapse with the prolongation of time. The use of the drug should be under the supervision of a physician.
