How to use the nasal washer

The correct use of the nasal washer is to put physiological saline or light saline prepared with edible salt of 2%-3% into the nasal washer, insert the rinse head of the nasal washer into the nostril that needs to be rinsed, lower the head and open the mouth, squeeze the rinse ball when exhaling, rinse the saline into the nasal cavity, and rinse out the saline from the mouth and the other nasal cavity. Note that you should not use excessive force when rinsing or blow your nose to prevent the rinsed saline and nasal secretions from entering the middle ear through the eustachian tube on both sides of the nasopharynx and causing acute secretory otitis media or acute suppurative otitis media. With proper nasal rinsing, it can be a good adjunct to any rhinitis and sinusitis treatment in the nasal cavity. In case of children or pediatric patients, the nasal cavity can be cleaned with physiological seawater nasal spray, which plays the same supplementary therapeutic role.
