1.Normal The patient was examined for tactile pressure sensation (10g nylon wire), cool temperature sensation and pain sensation on the foot, and the patient had good superficial sensation. Vibratory sensory thresholds (VPT) were examined at the anterior end of the big toe (2.5 cm from the center of the toe belly to the anterior toenail) of both feet, and the results were <15 V. The patient had good deep sensation and was at low risk of developing neuropathic ulcers. Ankle tendon reflexes were examined in both patients, and the patient had normal ankle reflexes. The patient had no signs or symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. It indicates that the patient has no neuropathy (grade 0-1: non-clinical neuropathy). 2. Mild-moderate abnormality The patient was examined for tactile pressure sensation (10g nylon wire), cool-temperature sensation and pain sensation in the foot, and there was local superficial sensory hypoesthesia. Vibratory sensory thresholds (VPT) were checked at the front end of the big toe (2.5 cm from the center of the toe belly to the front toenail) of both feet, and the result: 15V. The patient had foot numbness, burning pain, tingling or painless symptoms, and physical symptoms such as the presence of foot deformities (e.g., Charcot's joint). Suggest that the patient has peripheral neuropathy (grade 2: clinical neuropathy). 3, severe lesions The patient was examined for tactile pressure sensation (10g nylon wire), cool-temperature sensation and pain sensation in the foot, and a variety of superficial sensory deficits were examined. Vibratory sensory thresholds (VPT) were examined at the front of the big toe (2.5 cm from the center of the toe belly to the front toenail) in both feet, and the results were >25 V. The patient had severe deep sensory deficits and was at high risk for developing neuropathic ulcers. Tendon reflexes were examined in the affected areas and the patient’s reflexes were absent. The patient had foot injuries, such as ulcers and other physical symptoms. It was suggested that the patient had severe peripheral neuropathy (grade 3: advanced complications).
