Can skin cancer be cured?

The vast majority of skin cancers can be cured by active treatment in early stage, but if advanced metastasis occurs, the prognosis is poorer and can endanger patients’ lives. Skin cancer is a malignant tumor of skin, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma and so on. If there is active surgical intervention in the early stage, the prognosis is generally better and does not jeopardize the patient’s life. If distant metastasis has occurred, the treatment is more difficult and the prognosis is worse. Depending on the type, stage and degree of malignancy of the tumor, there are differences in treatment and prognosis. At present, surgery is the main treatment for skin cancer, and radiotherapy, cryotherapy, laser, photodynamic therapy and other treatments are also available. If skin cancer is diagnosed, a suitable treatment plan should be adopted under the guidance of doctors and in accordance with individual conditions.
