There are two reasons for the protrusion of alveolar bone after tooth extraction: 1. The force during tooth extraction is relatively large, causing fracture of alveolar bone, and the alveolar bone shows a slightly open state without effective reset. After healing of the misalignment, the bone protrusion of the alveolar bone is formed; 2. The alveolar space between the alveolar bone is exposed after tooth extraction, forming a relatively sharp bone protrusion, which will affect the seating of the denture in the future. The bone protrusion within 1-3 months after tooth extraction can be slowly absorbed and smoothed by massage. If the bone does not recover after 1-3 months, the alveolar bone can be reshaped to achieve a perfect shape in preparation for denture restoration.
