Chronic simple pharyngitis and chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis, most of the throat will be red, manifested as chronic congestion of the mucous membrane of the pharynx, chronic atrophic pharyngitis, the throat is usually not red, manifested as atrophy and thinning of the mucous membrane of the pharynx. Chronic pharyngitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the mucosa and submucosal tissues of the pharynx, which can be divided into chronic simple pharyngitis, chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis, chronic atrophic pharyngitis and so on according to pathological manifestations. Most cases of chronic simple pharyngitis and chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis cause redness of the throat and congestion of the throat on examination. In a few cases of chronic atrophic pharyngitis, the throat does not become red, and there is atrophy and thinning of the mucous membrane layer and decreased secretion. Chronic pharyngitis is characterized by dry cough, nausea, dry and uncomfortable throat, pain in the throat with a foreign body sensation, and in some cases, due to the increase in pharyngeal secretions, white sputum is often spat out.
