Can nasal papillomas be cured?

Papillomas of the nasal cavity are mostly benign tumors, but there is a chance of recurrence and malignancy after treatment. It is currently impossible to achieve complete eradication. The earlier the choice of standardized treatment, its efficacy is generally better. If the swelling is completely removed, some patients can achieve clinical cure.
Nasal papilloma is a common benign nasal tumor, which is divided into exophytic and endophytic papilloma. Exophytic papillomas do not recur in situ after complete excision. Nasal involutional papillomas are prone to recurrence after surgery, and multiple surgeries and older age are high risk factors for malignant transformation. The disease is mostly associated with human papillomavirus infection.
Treatment of papilloma is based on complete surgical excision. Currently, the mainstream choice is nasal endoscopic resection of intranasal papilloma, which removes all the tumor and part of the normal tissue to a sufficiently safe boundary, and is supplemented by electrocoagulation or low-temperature plasma local ablation. Regular postoperative reviews are performed.
