Pregnancy cannot be detected six days after intercourse. It is recommended that a blood test for beta-HCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin and progesterone levels, be taken 12 days after intercourse to determine if pregnancy is present. During normal pregnancy, the fertilized egg enters the endometrium in the form of a blastocyst at the end of day 5 or the beginning of day 6, and the fertilized egg is laid on day 6-7 after fertilization, at which time the syncytial trophoblast begins to secrete human chorionic gonadotropin, and a pregnancy test or early pregnancy test should be checked more than half a month after intercourse to be more accurate.
