Difference between Shishen Pills and Nutmeg Shishen Pills

The difference between Si Shen Wan and Nutmeg Si Shen Wan lies in the composition of the medicines and the main treatment effects.
Si Shen Wan is composed of nutmeg, schizandra, tonic acid, Wu Zhu, and jujube; while Nutmeg Si Shen Wan is composed of tonic acid, muxiang, nutmeg, poppy shell, hokkien, white peony, dry ginger, atractylodes macrocephala, and Wu Zhu.
Si Shen Wan has the effects of warming the kidney, dispersing cold, astringing the intestines to stop diarrhea (relieving diarrhea by enhancing the function of intestinal astringency), and treating kidney-yang insufficiency that leads to diarrhea in the fifth day of the week (diarrhea before dawn), small meals, indigestibility, yellowish color, and coldness of the limbs. Adverse reactions, contraindications and precautions are not exact.
Nutmeg Four Spirits Pill has the effects of tonifying the spleen to stop diarrhea, warming the middle and dispersing cold (using medicine that warms the spleen and stomach to disperse cold). It can be used for bowel disorders, diarrhea at dawn, intestinal diarrhea and abdominal pain, lack of appetite, yellowish face and thin body, lumbago and leg weakness.
Adverse effects and contraindications of this product are not exact. Note that this product contains poppy husk, long-term use may produce dependence, should be taken under the guidance of a physician. This product should not be taken at the same time with other products containing poppy husk, morphine hydrochloride, codeine phosphate, opium poppy hydrochloride and other products that are prone to dependence.
