Usually the labor process for a second child will be shorter than for a first child, how much time varies from person to person and there is no set time. The duration of each stage of labor is different.
1. The first stage of labor: divided into latent period and active period, latent period of women in labor is generally not more than 14 hours, the active period of the uterine mouth dilatation rate should be greater than or equal to 0.5cm/hour, generally not more than 8 hours.
2. Second stage of labor: after the mouth of the uterus is fully opened, the second stage of labor of the second child is about 2 hours.
3. Third stage of labor: the process of delivering the placenta is the third stage of labor, which takes about 10-15 minutes to deliver completely, not more than 30 minutes.
The duration of labor is affected by many factors, such as the elasticity of the pelvis, vagina and perineum, and the strength of the mother’s labor. The length of labor varies from person to person.
