A solid uterine nodule, which would refer to a uterine fibroid, would be one of the descriptions when imaging is done. Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors of the female reproductive system and are composed of smooth muscle and connective tissue, which on pathologic examination are found to be substantial spherical masses. The cause of uterine fibroids is not clear, but they are mainly seen in physiologic women and shrink or subside after menopause, so their occurrence may be related to female hormones. If the fibroids are small, the patient basically has no obvious symptoms, and most women discover them during a physical examination. If there are relatively large intermural fibroids and submucosal fibroids, they are likely to lead to increased menstrual flow and prolonged menstrual period, and sometimes a mass may be felt in the abdomen, and the amount of leukorrhea will be significantly increased, and even symptoms of compression may occur. Uterine fibroids are usually diagnosed basically based on the patient’s medical history, signs and ultrasound examination. Asymptomatic uterine fibroids usually do not require treatment, especially for women approaching menopause. The main treatment for fibroids is the use of medication or surgery.
