An antibiotic ointment, usually erythromycin eye ointment, is applied to the buried site after the procedure to prevent wound infection. Ice packs are applied to the buried site for 20 to 30 minutes. Intermittent ice packs can be applied for 48 hours after surgery, usually for 15 to 20 minutes, 6 to 8 times a day to reduce postoperative edema. Note that the ice pack should not directly touch the skin, and a towel can be wrapped around the ice pack to avoid frostbite. In case of exposed threads, do not forcefully pull them out, they can be cut along the root or treated by a professional doctor. To promote post-operative recovery, oral medications to reduce swelling and activate blood circulation can be taken.
