An open trauma is also one in which there is a break in the skin, which leads to an intra-abdominal connection with the extra-abdominal cavity, and is usually seen with sharp force trauma. In contrast to closed trauma, closed trauma does not present a skin breakdown and is usually caused by blunt force trauma. In clinical practice, further examination is required for closed abdominal trauma to determine whether it is combined with a break in the important tissues and organs of the abdominal cavity, and if necessary, surgical treatment is required. For open trauma, because the abdominal cavity is connected to the outside world, timely emergency surgical treatment is needed to fully debride the wound and fully explore it.
