Post-operative healing time for anal fistula

Since there are simple and complex anal fistulas, high and low anal fistulas, the surgical procedure differs from one to another and the size of the postoperative wound also differs. Usually, it takes about 30 days for a low simple fistula to fully heal after surgery, with a wound of 10 cm2 or less, with proper and skilled routine dressing changes and other comprehensive treatment. For high-grade complex fistulas, it usually takes about 50 days to repair the surgical wound. If eczema-like changes occur during wound repair due to allergy to certain medications used or after repeated trimming of excess granulation tissue that has grown too fast, wound repair is delayed by about a week. If the allergens are not removed and anti-allergy creams are not applied to the trauma in a timely manner, then the healing time of the trauma is significantly delayed. In addition, if the patient is weak, the time to repair the wound will be prolonged.
