Most elderly people will have fever before death, which is common in the following cases: 1. Infections, various infections can cause fever in elderly people before death, such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, bedsores, central nervous system infections, sepsis and so on. Severe infections can cause high fever and eventually cause multi-organ failure and death. 2. tumors, patients with advanced tumors can develop long-term low-grade fever, called tumor fever. Antibiotics are ineffective against tumor fever, resulting in advanced patients still having fever before death.3. Elderly people with serious brain diseases may also develop central fever, such as severe craniocerebral trauma, brainstem infarction and so on. Central fever is extremely difficult to control and is a common symptom before the patient’s death. Not all elderly people will have fever symptoms before death, for example, patients with cachexia and sudden cardiac death will not have fever symptoms before death.
