Pulmonary manifestations of dry syndrome

Dry syndrome is a systemic disorder that can affect multiple organs throughout the body in addition to localized manifestations such as dry mouth and eyes. In some patients, pulmonary manifestations may first appear without other symptoms being apparent.
Involvement of the lungs in dry syndrome may manifest as dry pharyngolaryngitis, dry trachea/bronchitis, causing a dry cough, and dyspnea in those with small airway involvement. In some patients, chest imaging shows pulmonary pustules and interstitial pneumonia. Some patients may progress to respiratory failure, and a few may develop pulmonary hypertension.
If the diagnosis of dry syndrome, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to avoid delay.
