The gingival line is a mechanical gingival method commonly used in clinical practice, and its proper use includes wetting and drying the abutment teeth, using a gingival device to press the gingival line into the gingival sulcus, and removing the gingival line to make a model.
1. Dampening and drying of the basal teeth: before placing the gingival line, it is necessary to dampen and dry the basal teeth first, rinse the saliva and blood in the gingival sulcus using an air-water gun, and blow-dry the basal teeth to avoid the gingival line from being wet and difficult to be placed in the correct position.
2. Press the gingival line into the gingival sulcus using a gingival row gingival device: after wetting and drying the abutment teeth, use a gingival row gingival device or a periodontal probe to press the gingival line into the gingiva between the abutment teeth and the free gingiva, so that the gingiva moves in the lateral and apical direction. The gingival line should not be higher than the gingival margin after insertion.
3. Remove the gingival line and make a model: five minutes after the gingival line is pressed in, the gingival line is gently and slowly removed, and a model is made immediately to accurately take out the shape of the edge of the abutment.
The use of the gingival line needs to be completed by a professional dentist to avoid using it on your own to avoid adverse consequences.
